Yes, as long as you are connected to the Sinclair network using the VPN, your laptop will receive updates. When updates are available, you will see a notification in your system tray as shown circled below;
When you see a number in the circled area, it means you have a notification. Clicking the notification icon will display the notification(s). If the notification is for an update, you can install it from Software Center at a convenient time. You should check this notification area regularly for notifications.
